The United Arab Emirates is entering a three-day period of mourning for the late Queen of England.
The three-day mourning period affects the public and private sectors. Starting today (Friday September 9) and lasting until Monday September 12, flags throughout the country will be flown at half-mast.
The Presidential Court has expressed its condolences to King Charles III, the Royal Family and the British people.
For those working a Monday to Friday working week, this will not effect work schedules. However, for those who work on Saturdays, it could mean work is cancelled.
Queen Elizabeth II passed away on Thursday September 8 at her home in Scotland, Balmoral. At 96 years old, she was the longest reigning monarch in British history serving the country from 1952.
Throughout her 75-year reign, Queen Elizabeth II visited the UAE twice, in 1979 and 2010.
We join the world in mourning the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, a global icon who represented the finest qualities of her nation and people. Her incredible lifetime of service and duty to the United Kingdom is unparalleled in our modern world.
