Jack Whitehall announces third Dubai comedy show

It will be an intimate warm-up gig

British comedian Jack Whitehall has announced a third Dubai gig to have us all laughing in January.

The comedian will be performing at world-famous cruise-ship-turned-hotel the QE2 for an intimate warm-up act on Tuesday January 12.

Tickets are on sale now and are Dhs295. They are being sold in groups of two, three or four only and the event will be following strict COVID-19 guidelines.

The show is a warm-up to Whitehall’s Dubai Shopping Festival gigs at Dubai World Trade Centre on January 13 and 14. There are still tickets available for the January 13 show on 800ticket.com, though January 14 is sold out.

It will be nearly a year away from the stage when Whitehall makes his appearance in Dubai and he told Time Out he can’t wait to be back.

“I’ve done shows to empty theatres and empty studios, but I don’t think I’ve told a joke in front of an audience for a year,” he adds. “I’m really missing that energy of a live crowd.

“Live shows are always the best – they have that kind of sense of the unpredictable, something you can’t really recreate – the buzz of doing a live show and being in front of an audience. For all the TV shows and sitcoms, actually being up on stage with your audience, nothing really beats that.”

The show is part of Whitehall’s Stood Up tour, and fans will also know him from TV programmes including Fresh Meat and Travels with My Father, with Michael Whitehall.
