Love a McArabia? Fond of a Big Mac and always in the mood for chicken McNuggets? Well, make room for a slew of new items from McDonald’s as the world-famous fast food chain is testing out six new menu items in the UAE.
In an unexpected but not unprecedented move (chains including KFC and Wendy’s have been at it for a while), the new items aren’t in the fries and burger family but instead rice and protein bowls.

As for the choices, they appear to have taken inspiration from much-loved cuisines from around the globe.
Diners can select from chicken katsu curry, chicken teriyaki, chili con carne, beef with gravy and mushrooms and beef with mushroom sauce and a veggie katsu curry meal.
If the sound of the rice meals have got your mouth watering then you will be pleased to know that they are available in 30 UAE McDonald’s from today (Wednesday September 21).
As for the price of the new items, they’re not to be sneered at.
An a la carte option will set you back Dhs19, or Dhs22 if you want a drink with the meal.
For those watching the dirhams then the value option available for just Dhs12 it is sure to be a winner.
As for where you can get your chops around the new grub, the branches in Dubai testing the rice bowls are; Jumeirah Beach, Al Ghurair Centre, DFC, Dubai Mall, Blue Tower, Spinneys, Deira CC, Mall of the Emirates 1, Al Bustan, Dubai Hills, JBR Murjan, IBN Battuta Metro Link, Al Barsha 2 and Dubai Airport T1 Landside.
Other UAE places that are serving up the new items are; King Faisal Sharjah City Center, Sharjah Club, Ajman Club, Ajman City Centre, Muntasir RAK, Tasjeel Khorfakkan,
Fujairah EPPCO,Umm Al Quwain, AUH/ Al Ain, Khalidiya St, Al Mariah Cinema, Abu Dhabi Mall, Dalma Mall 2, Al Wahda Mall Zakher, Al Ain Khalifa St.
If the menu goes down well then McDonald’s will be looking to roll out the rice meals across more branches.
