Three off-the-beaten-track restaurants to try in Abu Dhabi

Try these Time Out-recommended venues

In Abu Dhabi we have so many top restaurants all across the city.

While we love to dine everywhere and anywhere, there’s something special about knowing a little spot that many people are yet to discover.

Want to check out a lesser-known spot and have a great meal?

Try these Time Out-recommended venues and keep them to yourself so it remains our little secret.

Bonna Annee

African cuisine isn’t that easy to find in the city, so this is a top little spot to try something different. Bonna Annee isn’t glamorous on the outside, but if you judge a book by its cover you’ll miss all the good stuff inside.

Dragon Bao Bao

It might still be small, but you can’t miss the place, there are two pandas outside the door, for a start. Once you’re in, a massive cuddly panda takes pride of place in the dining room. Panda art is on the walls, some of the plates have pandas on them and, well, we imagine you’ve noticed the theme by now. The food is unpretentious and casual. There’s no elaborate decoration, presentation or undue fuss and we love it.

West to West Kitchen

When you arrive at this restaurant you’ll be delighted to see how cosy it is, with just two tables and a kitchen.  Everything on the menu sounds appealing and the smell of aromatic spices flowing out of the kitchen only adds to the anticipation.
