Al Ain Zoo launches a bicycle trail

The mountain bike experience runs along Hafeet Mountain

Feeling active and up for an adventure? Al Ain Zoo has introduced a brand-new experience that requires a lot of stamina.

Promising to be a load of fun for the whole family, the bike trail at the man-made safari park, takes cyclists along the rugged terrain of Hafeet Mountain.

There are two tiers to choose from, one is aimed at mountain bikers with three cool tracks of three, seven and nine metres long.

The trails will take you along the bottom of the mountain and alongside the Al Ain African Safari, where you can look out for some of the zoo’s residents.

The second is dedicated to younger riders and beginner cyclists on tricycles.

The new cycle trails, which can be booked at the dedicated stall next to the main gate as well as at the education centre, are available from Sunday to Thursday between 10am and 6pm.

At the weekend, the mountain bike trail is available from 7am to 6pm, while the tricyle trail is available from 1pm to 7pm.

Director Operations in Al Ain Zoo, Omar Mohammed Al Ameri, said: “This new experience is an exciting addition to our efforts in encouraging the community to adopt an active lifestyle and enjoy the natural environment in al Ain Zoo. As well as highlighting the amazing Hafeet mountain, home to wide range of flora and fauna, explores can immerse themselves in its abundant history. Many of our guests and Al Ain visitors love to explore this area, enjoy their favorite sport activity or simply relax within its incredible natural beauty.”
