Passengers touching down in Scotland on flights from Dubai will face a 10-day quarantine after a rise in COVID-19 cases in the country since the turn of the year.
Measures came into effect on Monday January 11, with Scottish authorities also contacting all passengers to have arrived from Dubai since Sunday January 3 to ask them to self-isolate.
“This preventative action addresses the significant rise in cases of coronavirus, and the increase in the numbers of cases testing positive in Scotland,” the Scottish Government said in a statement.
The UK placed the UAE on its travel corridor before the winter holidays, but last week declared that all international arrivals would need to present a negative coronavirus test before travelling.
