UAE prioritises vaccination for elderly and the vulnerable

Previously booked appointments will stand for other categories

Vaccinations in the UAE are being prioritised for individuals with chronic diseases and the elderly for the next six weeks.

The new, temporary, plan was announced by the The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) to protect the vulnerable.

All residents and citizens that fall into the groups mentioned above may visit a vaccination centre without making an appointment.

However, if you are not in the groups, but you have already had the first dose of the vaccine and are booked in for your second one, the appointment will still stand.

Those looking to get their first dose of the vaccine will not be able to book an appointment at this stage.

The UAE has set target of vaccinating half of the country’s population by the end of Q1 and as of February 6 more than 4 million people have received the vaccine.

Here’s where to get the vaccine in the UAE.
