Huge new family park to open in Al Ain

Al Hayer Oasis will promote local culture and farming practices

Dubbed The Garden City, Al Ain – which means “the spring” – is neatly filled with oases, gardens, amusement parks, exotic animals, museums and more, and now a brand-new family-friendly park has been completed.

Located in the north of Al Ain, the massive Al Hayer Oasis is spread out over a 25,500 sq m space and was built with the aim of promoting local culture and farming practices.

The park includes recreational facilities, walkways spanning a 2,337 sq m stretch, family-friendly activities, and scattered throughout the palatial park are various types of palm trees and local forage crops, too.

“The Al Hayer Oasis project is part of the strategy of the Al Ain City Municipality to make optimal use of existing assets and create an investment atmosphere, as well as provide an atmosphere for family and entertainment gatherings, exhibition areas and national seasonal shows in one place,” said Mohammad Thani Al Muhairi, Director of Parks and Recreation Department at Al Hayer Municipality Centre.

The community park is also home to a nursery for local plants and parkgoers will have the chance to learn about traditional agricultural practices, different types of local plants, and various palm tree varieties.

A food area with kiosks will soon be set up boasting both an indoor and outdoor space and a line-up of seasonable events is also set to be announced soon – watch this space.
