Enjoy a family movie night at Vox Cinemas

Disney’s latest film is in cinemas across the UAE and it’s one to watch. The story is set in the fantasy world of Kumandra where 500 years ago humans and dragons lived in harmony. But that was before the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity from a swarm of evil monsters. Now it’s up to Raya to track down the last dragon and save the world. Pass the popcorn.

Indulge in some retail therapy at Mom Store

Is there anything quite like a spot of retail therapy (ideally without having to drag the kids along) to unwind and de-stress? A brand-new shop has opened aimed at Dubai mums, dads and parents-to-be. Mom Store, located in City Centre Mirdif, is stocked with parenting must-haves for newborns up to kids of 14 including baby strollers, car seats, tricycles, playpens, highchairs, walkers, maternity wear and soft toys. You’ll also find cute outfits so your little ones can look the part at brunch, from brands such as Carters and Oshkosh. The shop also houses some cool kiddy brands that aren’t sold anywhere else in the UAE such as iCandy and Little Me. Need to take a break from all the browsing and spending? There is a ‘Mom’s Lounge’ where you can chill out while the kids entertain themselves in the dedicated soft play area. There’s even a personal shopper service if you need some top tips on what you need for your new arrival or are looking for flattering maternity outfits.

Inject some culture into the kiddos at The Dubai Museum

Add some culture into your kiddo’s weekend with a day trip to the Old Town, especially the Al Fahidi District. They’ll get a really vivid picture of the past during a visit to Dubai Museum, a historical building that is home to a wide variety of life-size dioramas that depict Emirati life from a bygone era. Soak in the heritage as you take a tour through traditional scenes of Arab households, souks and mosques, with more things to do offering unique insights into life in the desert by the sea.
Dhs3 (adults), Dhs1 (kids under six). Open Sat-Wed 8.30am-8.30pm, Thu 2.30pm-8.30pm, closed Fri. Bur Dubai (04 353 1862).

Jump around at Jump N Fun, Dubai

The enormous, colourful inflatable playground offers all the usual jumping fun that little ones enjoy including a climbing wall where mini Spidermen and women can test their skills safely. In addition there is a cool foam pit for little daredevils to launch themselves into as well as a huge range of various shapes and sizes of trampolines for a sport of freestyle bouncing.
