Little bookworms have a love of reading? A brilliant book fair is coming to Sharjah and it’s just for the kiddos.
The Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival (SCRF) is heading back to the UAE for the 13th year next month.
Kicking off on May 19, the 11-day fair will showcase the latest children’s literature from regional and international publishers.
Themed ‘for your imagination’, writers and experts from all over the world will be sharing their love of reading with little bookworms through a cool programme that incorporates cultural, scientific and recreational activities.
Keen readers will be able to take part in fun workshops, live cooking classes and will also be able to meet their favourite authors – let’s hope they don’t get too star struck!
General Coordinator of Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, Khoula Al Mujaini, said that they theme of this year’s festival was chosen because: “We want to emphasise to the young generations the importance of fuelling, encouraging and building their imagination to discover new worlds; to innovate, experiment and learn. For behind every great idea or innovation lies immersive imagination, which plays a key role in transforming someone’s vision into great new realities.”
Al Mujaini continued: “We, therefore, invite children and young adults in the UAE and all over the world to unleash their imagination at the multitude of exciting workshops and activities that will be taking place during SCRF 2021. These activities will give them a platform to have fun, make new discoveries, engage with their peers, share their ideas and portray their talents. Most importantly, the festival will be a feast for their imagination.”
