Time Out Market Lisbon is back open

Get the lowdown on one of Portugal’s most popular attractions

Do you hear that? That’s the rumble of excitement all the way from Portugal – as Time Out Market Lisbon – the original Time Out Market –  is reopening its doors today (Tuesday June 1).

The super-popular Market at Av 24 de Julho is where it all began, back in 2014 – becoming the world’s first food and cultural market based on editorial curation. In 2019 it welcomed more than four million visitors – making it one of the most popular attractions in the whole city.

Time Out Market Lisbon is reopening with many of its original eateries on the line-up, so get ready for more than 25 restaurants, six kiosks, seven bars, four shops, cooking school Academia Time Out, co-working space Second Home and an events room (Estúdio Time Out). New additions including Crush Doughnuts, as well as a new mixed drinks bar called TO Bar, which will be serving innovative concoctions and classic beverages.

Dishes to get on your radar include: linguini with carabineiros (scarlet prawns) at Marisqueira Azul; lobster burger at Ground Burger; sushi taco at Confraria;  new cheeses at Manteigaria Silva; vegetarian dishes from chef Miguel Castro e Silva; and new summer ice cream flavours at Davvero.

Piqued your interest? Time Out Market Lisbon will also be screening Euro 2020 games throughout the tournament when it kicks off on June 1, while there are a range of events coming up including concerts and workshops.

Ready to travel? Emirates flies four times a week to Lisbon. There are 14 weekly flights between Dubai and New York with Emirates, while a there are four flights a week to Boston and once a week to Miami. All destinations require negative PCR tests and make sure to check for COVID-19 guidelines for your destination.
