Abu Dhabi lifts restrictions on number of people dining together – if they are family

No maximum number on diners if related

Have you been longing to have a meal out where the whole family can sit together? If so, we have good news.

Members of the same family can now sit at one table in restaurants and cafés in Abu Dhabi, with no limit on numbers.

However, all venues must maintain other precautionary measures, including adhering to the approved capacity of 60 percent to protect the health and safety of everyone within the community.

This announcement comes as great news for those with larger families, who have had to split into groups of four.

The 60 percent capacity rule means that it is probably a good idea for larger families to call ahead and book reservations at restaurants to avoid missing out on a seat.

The new rule, which was approved by the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster committee, came into effect Saturday June 5.
