If your vegetarian or even vegan, nothing quite beats a serving of fresh vegetable sushi. Least not when they come crafted at the expert hands of chef Reif. Perfectly fresh avocado and cucumber sticks are wrapped in sticky quinoa and seaweed for a flavour explosion in the mouth. Hold off the sauce and these are vegan, dip into black sesame sauce and they’re vegetarian friendly.

Think you know your stuff when it comes to pizza? This premium pie is a massive hit – and with good reason. One of the most indulgent pizzas you’ll have the pleasure of digging into, Truff Daddy is extreme. The base is slathered in olive oil and black truffle paste, topped with a dreamy pecorino / Parmesan mix, sliced brown mushrooms and elevated by house-made caramelised onions for a touch of sweetness to cut through the rich, earthy truffle. White truffle oil is drizzled on after it comes out of the oven, and it’s served with a pot of homemade black truffle cream, prime for dipping those puffy crusts in. On the hunt for your five-a-day in a fun way? This totally counts (in our eyes anyway). Pitfire’s perfectly blistered crust is loaded with lashings of tasty tomato sauce, the special house cheese blend (yes, cheese), mushrooms, green and black olives, sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and finished off with spinach sautéed with garlic. Five-a-day? We’ve counted and there’s at least seven in this one. Plus, vegans can opt for a dairy-free cheese alternative.

This filling dish is a cracking main for vegetarians at Time Out Market Dubai. Kick your meal off with the avocado ceviche pani puri and follow it up with this new-style biryani. The slow-cooked long grain rice is infused with homemade preserved spices and topped with crispy kale. It’s served with raita for a cooling kick and it’s a neat dish that’s way more exciting than you might expect.

Though specialising in Ethiopian coffee, Boon know a thing or two what goes into creating a delicious breakfast too. Their avocado toast, served with labneh and topped with dried fruits is officially one of the best in the city.

If you like to start on your day on a sweet note, then Boon Coffee’s chocolate croissant has your name all over it. The soft and flakey pastry is filled with melt-in-the-mouth oozing chocolate to the point where you’ll be unsure if you’re eating dessert or breakfast, now that’s the kind of meal we can get behind.

You scream, we scream, we all scream for ice cream – especially so when it’s from Scoopi. The soft serve stuff is the ideal balance between sweet, creamy and inventive. Lovers of the frozen delight that is acai, should head over to Lana Lusa where they can pick up one of the restaurant’s popular acai bowls. Starting your day with bowl that packs antioxidant punch can never be a bad thing, especially not when it looks this good.

Ok, so fries not be a full meal in itself (even though vegans are used to making it so) but these are too good to miss. Potatoes have been cut into circle shapes and fried Portuguese style to make some of the most delicious fries you’ve ever tried.

BB is much-loved for its bao, and just because you can’t dig into a duck or short-rib version, there’s absolutely no need to miss out, as this veg option is super-tasty and a must-try for vegans, vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.
