Time Out Market Montréal is back open

Here’s what you need to know about the Canadian food destination

Thinking about a visit to Canada this year? There’s now an exciting reason to add Montréal to your travel bucket list.

Time Out Market Montreal is now back open – and if you want to check out the city’s most exciting food destination, it’s time to start researching that trip.

As small outdoor gatherings resume and curfews lift, Montréal is now welcoming back the city’s most discerning diners.

The 40,000 sq ft Market can be found at Centre Eaton, and there are loads of tasty food stands and top bars to check out.

As global restrictions ease, Time Out Markets around the world have opened up – and Montreal joins New York, Boston, Chicago, Miami and Dubai in serving the coolest eats around. Time Out Market Montréal reopened on Friday July 2, and it’s the last of the global markets to return to the worldwide dining scene, which is big news for foodies around the world.

And there are 11 tasty eateries to choose from at Montréal, so hold on to your hats. Top choices include an all-new live sushi chef pop-up, a reactivated cooking school and a retail shop stocked with Quebec-made goods.

The line-up’s a showstopper, with Tunnel Espresso serving up fried biscuit and brioche doughnuts, coffee and more, as well as plant-based tacos from chef Christian Ventura’s Casa Kaizen. If you’re into sushi you won’t want to miss the super-fresh sashimi and Japanese street food at Le Blossom.

Fancy some Indian food? Check out Le Taj, which is serving up Montreal spins on Northern Indian cuisine. There are also gourmet waffles and crêpes from P’tit Dip, Caribbean fare from Paul Toussaint and burgers from Burger T! from chef Normand Laprise.

Still not enough for you? It’s time to check out Neapolitan pies of Moleskine,  ramen and donburi from H Marusan, superb pasta at Il Miglio, and authentic Vietnamese street food at Le Red Tiger.

There are also three bars to find a drink to wash it all down with, too.
