7 top family fitness apps to try in the UAE

What to download to get active with the gang this summer

OKAY, so screens and devices aren’t something we usually associate with keeping our kids active, quite the opposite in fact. But when it’s hot outside, sometimes we need to think outside the box when it comes to making sure the little ones stay fit and healthy. Tech can be a great tool to encourage kiddos off the sofa, so here are seven super fun fitness apps designed to do just that.

Cosmic Kids

Cosmic Kids, and its associated YouTube channel, hosts entertaining sessions that make yoga and mindfulness fun. It is all about interactive adventures that build strength, balance and confidence – and gets kids into the ideologies behind yoga and mindfulness early, which can only be a good thing.

Fitness Kids

The aptly named Fitness Kids app will keep the kids entertained with more than 25 animated exercises. The app makes things interesting by offering two modes: Training and Joust. The former will provide tutorials while the latter will allow kids to compete against other kids who are also using the app.

FitQuest Lite

FitQuest Lite is a unique app that encourages kids to walk over 10,000 steps per day by using fun puzzles to motivate kids to take more steps: the more steps they take, the more puzzles they unlock which they then get to play. This particular kids’ activity app focuses on jogging, hopping and dancing.
