Business set-up fees have been cut by more than 90 percent in Abu Dhabi and you will now only need to pay Dhs1,000 to get started. For existing businesses, license renewal fees have also been reduced to Dhs1,000. This change will be effective from Tuesday July 27; sounds like it’s time to start drafting your business plan.

The new cost includes six activities within the business license, and will cover all fees from Abu Dhabi Government entities such as ADDED, the Department of Municipalities and Transport, membership fees for Abu Dhabi Chamber, the Cerficiate of Conformity, insurance fee and fees for the various regulating entities depending on your type of business. Several fees have been waived completely while others have been considerably reduced.

The fixed fee aims to enhance the ease of doing business in the emirate and increases transparency for investors while reducing administration issues. It also supports Abu Dhabi Government’s efforts to create a thriving business environment in the private sector.
His Excellency Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of ADDED, said: “We hope this significant change in fee structure helps to further ease the setup process for new and existing investors. Our goal for Abu Dhabi, as part of our new economic strategy, is to create a thriving business environment that encourages growth and innovation.”
