Try the Pan Asian night at Urban Kitchen

Want to take a trip around Asia? (who doesn’t?). This dining deal at Urban Kitchen will take you from the Far East to the Indian sub-continent with live cooking stations. Sample Thai curries, pecking duck, Indian chaat, and a plethora of other choices. Phew.

Bowl a turkey at Khalifa International Bowling Centre

If you love to bowl you’re going to love this mega bowling alley at Zayed Sports City. With an incredible 40 lanes, you’ll never have long to wait to crush your opponent with your skills (or slam one into the gutter). This alley is used by the national team and it’s even hosted the World Bowling Championship in days past. Talk about pro. We won’t trash talk if you won’t.
Open daily 3pm-3am. Zayed Sports City (02 403 4200).

Long weekend drunch at McGettigan’s

Looking for a place to park yourself for the weekend? Head to McGettigan’s on Thursday or Friday from 4pm to 11pm or all day on Saturday. For Dhs100 you’ll get five drinks vouchers on selected house beverages, or go premium for Dhs150 and get five drinks vouchers on selected premium hops. We know where we’ll be this weekend.

Friday

Gone fishin’ with Trip Arabia

One of our favourite Abu Dhabi experiences is game fishing. Gather a few friends and chart a course for the deep blue on a boat fully equipped with all the necessary gear (or bring your own rod). Accompanied by an experienced captain, you’ll be in the market to catch tuna, sailfish, salmon and more. After the bait is back in the box and you’ve (hopefully) snagged a few snaps with the catch of the day, kick back on deck and basks in these sweet skyline views just off the coast. Whether you’re a group of four or sailing solo, there’s a package for all kinds.
Daily tours 8am-5pm. triparabia.ae (054 580 0101).

Have the explorers lunch among the fossil dunes at Al Wathba

Desert adventures are bound to work up your appetite, so it’s a good thing you can get your fill of Italian fare even while you’re out in the wilderness. Terra Secca is offering an à la carte-style lunch menu for explorers. You can either have a two or three course feast courtesy of Junior Sous-Chef Vittorio Gianluca Nania. Choose from succulent pasta, gnocchi, and risotto, slow-cooked ribs, pizza, and fish. Finish off with tiramisu, fondant, and a selection of Italian gelato.
Dhs125 (two courses); Dhs160 (three courses). Fri-Sat, noon-4pm. Al Wathba, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa (02 204 4444).

Friday brunch at Emirates Palace

Sayad has recently reopened at Emirates Palace and is offering a family-style Friday brunch that we can’t wait to try. You can expect to find seafood favourites such as tuna ceviche or oysters in shallot vinaigrette, seafood paella, and beef striploin for mains. End the meal with a honey parfait, all while sipping refreshing drinks. The new interiors are inspired by the coastal tones of Southern Europe. Get ready to eat.
Dhs295 (soft); Dhs375 (house); Dhs475 (bubbly). Fri, 1pm-4pm. Emirates Palace, Corniche Road (026907999).

Saturday

Aerial Flow at Yoga One Studio

Want to move like an acrobat and change your relationship with gravity? Slip into a silk hammock draped from the ceiling, swing like Sia (minus the chandelier) and get an incredible workout to boot. In aerial flow, you work with the fabric to work your body into complicated poses and postures. The exercise decompresses your spine and aligns your body from head to toe. Bring a friend and have fun watching each other try unusual poses. Or you can always swing solo.
From Dhs80. Yoga One Studio, Mangrove One Compound, yogaone.ae (050 950 8863).

Le Petit Chef at Ray’s Grill

Dinner and a show, sound good? Head to Ray’s Grill to experience the 3D visuals of the world’s smallest (animated) chef preparing a meal 63 floors above the Abu Dhabi skyline. This immersive show is designed to entertain you while you chow down on gourmet eats. For Dhs385 you can enjoy the Le Petit classic or vegetarian menu, or spend Dhs545 for the Le Grand option. Kids eat for Dhs295.
