Abu Dhabi to welcome all vaccinated tourists

The requirement to quarantine has ended

There’s massive news for those looking to travel to the UAE capital.

Abu Dhabi’s National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Committee has announced that the requirements to travel to Abu Dhabi have changed.

Following the recent announcement of the UAE’s decision to issue tourist visas to all vaccinated travellers (you can head here for the full story), all vaccinated tourists arriving in the UAE capital no longer need to quarantine.

This latest travel update comes into effect from Sunday September 5 onwards.

Before travelling, vaccinated tourists must verify their vaccination certificate via the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) website or mobile app, and before boarding their flight to Abu Dhabi they are required to show a negative PCR test result received within 48 hours of departure.

Vaccinated citizens, residents and visitors arriving from green list countries (you can check out the most up-to-date list here) must take another PCR test on day six (if staying in Abu Dhabi).

Those arriving from other destinations, i.e. countries that are not on the green list, and staying in Abu Dhabi, must take PCR tests on days four and eight.

This new travel protocol applies to vaccinated tourists who have received all required doses as approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and who are aged 16 years and above.

As of now, WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines include Covishield, Johnson & Johnson (also known as Janssen), Moderna, Oxford-AstraZeneca, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinopharm, and Sinovac-CoronaVac.

Vaccinated tourists will be allowed in public places limited to those vaccinated in Abu Dhabi per the approved process. They will be able to show their status by registering on the Al Hosn app or by using the official app of their country of residence to show vaccination and their phone to show test results.
