Dashing Nails in Abu Dhabi

We try a cool Ice Cream Sundae pedicure at an Abu Dhabi spa

Angela Beitz visits Dashing Nails to try out their cool Ice Cream Sundae pedicure, just in time for summer.

The promise
A soothing and refreshing pedicure using products that both look and smell like ice cream, plus a new colour for your toes.

Step-by-step
Dashing Nails has a number of locations across Abu Dhabi and today we are at the Souk Central Market branch. We choose our colour, a very bright pink from the Gellish range, before we are shown to our nail station and a cute tray is brought over. The tray contains what looks exactly like the ingredients for an ice cream sundae, but all the items are being used for the pedicure including scrub, bath bomb, mask and moisturiser. The tub is filled with warm water, the bath bomb (which smells like strawberry ice cream) is thrown in and our feet are left to soak.

Our therapist then smooths the scrub all over our feet and legs and works to remove the dead skin both manually and with a file to achieve silky smooth feet. The scrub is washed off and it’s time to cut and file our nails.

The therapist works to remove our excess cuticles and our feet are starting to look good. A creamy mask (smelling like vanilla ice cream) is applied all over our feet which are then tucked into heat pads to get a deep moisturising. The mask is left on for around ten minutes before it is removed and it’s time for our colour. Gellish polish is painted onto your nails and then ‘dried’ on with a lamp so it will last for up to three weeks. We relax while the Gellish is applied with just 60 seconds drying time between each coat. Just when we think this treatment can’t get any better Lulu, the branch manager, tells us they are going to soon be serving real ice cream with the treatment.

The results
Very smooth and soft feet with a perfect pedicure.

Pros
The products used are a tad unusual but lots of fun and we’re big fans of the ice cream sundae set up. It’s a very effective and thorough pedicure when it comes to removing dead skin. The staff at Dashing Nails are talented, patient and professional.

Cons
No cons of note, but be warned that this treatment is highly addictive and your standard pedicure won’t be quite the same.
