UAE football stars to play for Portsmouth

The Abu Dhabi businessman Sulaiman Al Fahim, who is in his final negotiations to seal the deal to buy Premiership Football club Portsmouth FC, told local Arabic dailies that two of the star UAE football players Hamdan Al Kamali from Al Wahda Club and Ahmad Khalil from Al Ahli Club will play for Portsmouth. He said that negotiations with the two clubs are ongoing to release the players.

Khalil is the younger brother of UAE star striker Faisal Khalil and both have played for UAE League Championship.  Al Kamali is the most promising defender in the country and is the captain of the Youth team.  

The UAE’s Under-20 national football team under Al Kamali won the Asian Youth Championship (under-19last October in Saudi Arabia. Both players will play in the Fifa Under-20 World Cup finals to be held in Egypt this September.
