Tickets for the inaugural Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix, which takes place on Sunday, have sold out, it was reported on Monday.
The UAE capital’s big race event has sold out, seven months after tickets went on sale and a week before the race with almost 60,000 people expected at Yas Marina Circuit, UAE daily The National reported.
Richard Cregan, the chief executive of Yas Marina Circuit, told the paper: “We’ve had an amazing response locally, nationally and internationally and every ticket has been sold.”
Separately, Abu Dhabi Media Company (ADMChas announced that it will show the Grand Prix live on Abu Dhabi Alriyadiyah 2.
Transmitting in Arabic, the station will also show practice and qualifying sessions, along with the GP2 Asia Series and Porsche Supercup support races.
Mohamed Najeeb, head of Abu Dhabi Al Riyadiya Channels said: “Abu Dhabi Al Riyadiya 2 will provide complete coverage to motor sport lovers in the UAE and beyond. We see our role as showcasing this momentous event to enhance the enjoyment of the fans.”
Najeeb added: “Our coverage will begin with an open day event and our studios will also host guests from the Grand Prix organising committee, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Abu Dhabi Police, and several other government divisions that will be participating in the event.”
