Although the King of Pop may be gone, his memory lives on to his legions of fans across the world. And just before they mark the second anniversary of his death on June 25, Michael Jackson fanatics in Abu Dhabi will be able to enjoy a smash musical that celebrates the great entertainer and his contribution to pop music.
Currently in its third sell-out run in the West End of London, Thriller Live is a two-hour concert that features specially created choreography and live vocal performances, combined with state-of-the-art multi-media effects that bring Michael and The Jackson 5’s amazing songs and videos to life.
Thriller Live, which differs from most other stage shows in that it contains no plot or dialogue, features six singers who deliver classics such as ‘Beat It’, ‘Smooth Criminal’ and, of course, ‘Thriller’. British critics have been raving about it, with such glowing soundbites as: ‘a hugely enjoyable, gloriously upbeat, high-energy show’ (Daily Express), ‘quite literally thrilling’ (The Stage), and ‘a great tonic in these gloomy days’ (The Evening Standard).
‘This show has captured audiences around the world,’ said a spokesperson for event organisers Flash Entertainment. ‘It is the first time this musical has been to Abu Dhabi.’
