A water taxi service between Ajman and Dubai is set to launch

A water taxi service between Ajman and Dubai will be launched to ease traffic congestion between the emirates.

The new water taxi service will start running by the middle of the next year, with more than one million commuters expected to be transported annually, according to a report in Gulf News.

The deal to run the service will be signed by Ajman Municipality and the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA, the paper said.

“The project is part of the municipality’s strategy aimed at improving its services, enhancing its partnerships with other entities and providing best services and facilities to the public, Mohammad Omar Al Muhairi, director of the Planning and Survey Department at Ajman Municipality, told the paper.

Two taxi stops will be built – the Ajman Corniche and the Fish Market – that are easily accessible for commuters, the paper reported.
