Abu Dhabi F1 tickets go on sale on Thursday

Three-day pass to Yas Marina Circuit Grand Prix to cost Dhs2,000

Tickets for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which is scheduled for November 11-13, will go on sale this Thursday.

They will cost Dhs2,000 for three days and Dhs1,800 for two days, with the same pricing for all seats. But the race organisers are offering a 20 per cent discount on these prices if you buy your ticket before May 31.

You can also buy premium tickets, in which you enjoy balcony seating, air-conditioned lounges and complimentary parking, for Dhs4,250 for the three days; while Dhs16,900 will get you the VIP Paddock Club experience.

Tickets for the race have included entry to concerts in previous years, with 2010 F1 fans able to enjoy post-race concerts by Prince, Linkin Park and Kanye West. More big name musical acts are rumoured to be coming to the 2011 F1 show.

Richard Cregan, the chief executive of Yas Marina Circuit, said of the announcement: ‘This year’s Grand Prix takes place during the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the UAE, so we hope that people will embrace the Grand Prix as part of their 2011 National Day festivities. This season is already proving to be the most exciting in recent F1 history. We have plans to make the Abu Dhabi event even more exciting than before, so I believe race-goers are in for a real treat at Yas this year.’

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is the penultimate race of the 2011 season, with the final taking place in Brazil two weeks later. For more information, visit www.yasmarinacircuit.ae
