Example has pulled out of the forthcoming Sandance festival after suffering a leg injury – but promoters at the beach festival have promised to find a replacement ‘of equal stature or better’.
The festival on Friday October 12 is one of nine shows the British star has been forced to pull out due to Achilles tendonitis, a condition which causes pain in the back of the leg.
He tweeted the news to fans: ‘With huge regret I’ve had to cancel/reschedule all my Oct shows. My Achilles tendinitis has got worse and I need time to recover…”.

A spokesperson at the festival said that Example was an ‘integral part of the show’ but pledged that a hunt was on to find one or more replacement acts to ‘make up for it’.
He added ‘We’ve got a couple of irons in the fire but we can’t announce them until we get confirmation.
‘We’re looking at one main act or a couple of acts, and we’re trying to get something of equal stature or better.
‘People need something as big as Example (as a replacement) – but with a week to go it’s quite difficult to find acts that are sitting at home on a Friday night.
‘But we will be announcing something in the next day or two.’
Any replacement artist will be joining acts including The Fray, Krafty Kuts, Chuckie, Matt Kearney and Frankie Knuckles onstage at Atlantis The Palm. See www.timeouttickets.com for more.
