Wu-Tang

Groovy hip-hop album featuring Ghostface, RZA and co.

Legendary Weapons
3/5

Maybe they’ve dropped the ‘Clan’ here because a certain member – GZA –is conspicuous by his absence. To the point where tracks are credited as ‘featuring’ Ghostface and co. So, another twist in the beefing tale? Whatever: it’s RZA’s trademark noir-ish and cinematic production that shapes this record – a groovy and fly affair favouring hypnotic, head-nodding insistence and gruff, punchy flows, that keeps the Shaolin flame gently flickering. It’s no …36 Chambers, but then, few hip hop LPs are. And it plugs the gap agreeably until next time.
