Ryan Reynolds to shoot blockbuster in Abu Dhabi

The Deadpool star could be in the capital for up to six months

Movie fans, brace yourselves.

One of Hollywood’s biggest stars is coming to Abu Dhabi to shoot an awesome new blockbuster next later this year.

No, it’s not Tom Cruise again.

In fact, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds will be making his way to the UAE capital in November.

He’ll be here to shoot Six Underground, streaming service Netflix’s biggest budget movie to date at a whopping Dh460 million.

And he’s reported to be hanging around the capital for no fewer than six months.

Even if you’re not much of a film nut, you’ll definitely recognise the 41-year-old Canadian superstar.

He has starred in the likes of X-Men, Green Lantern, The Proposal, Definitely, Maybe, Blade: Trinity and Buried.

And when he’s not gracing our cinema screens, he has been known to be the face of the occasional men’s aftershave.

We’re still waiting for further details on Six Underground, but it is billed as an action thriller similar to the likes of Deadpool and Mission Impossible, according to The National.

The film is being produced by Skydance Productions, the same company responsible for the recent Mission Impossible: Fallout shoot which brought Tom Cruise to Abu Dhabi.

It is also due to star Dave Franco, who you might recognise from the likes of Superbad, Scrubs or Now You See Me.

Perhaps we’ll see Mr Reynolds hanging around Yas Mall or taking selfies in front of Emirates Palace.
