Louvre Abu Dhabi named one of seven urban wonders of the world

The stunning landmark earns yet more international acclaim

Louvre Abu Dhabi has won worldwide acclaim since opening in the capital last year.

And it’s just added another honour to its long list of awards and recognitions as experts named it one of the Seven Urban Wonders of the World.

The stunning Saadiyat Island culture hub joins the likes of Sydney Opera House and London’s Camden Market on the award-winning line-up.

It was awarded the honour by Hilton Hotels and Resorts, who enlisted the help of thousands of people in narrowing down the frontrunners.

Vera Manoukian, senior vice president and global brand head, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, said: “With more than 575 hotels in some of the most coveted destinations in the world, we wanted to empower today’s experience-driven travellers to identify modern-day travel Wonders – which, as you will see, are much different from the original Seven Wonders of the World.”

The seven landmarks chosen range from outdoor markets to museums.

It’s always great to see Abu Dhabi recognised on the world stage.
