Brit band Bastille to headline massive festival in Abu Dhabi

Club Social is back on Yas Island this month with a brilliant line-up

We all love a good festival here in Abu Dhabi, and boy, is this going to be a good one.

Club Social is back once again with stellar line-up of food, fun and music.

And this year, the headliners have got us really excited.

Topping the bill on the second edition of the Yas Island festival is Brit indie-dance band Bastille, who will perform on the evening of March 29.

Known for big hits Pompeii, Happier and Of The Night, the band are sure to make the weekend go with a bang.

The other big name artist, who will appear on March 30, is Oka Wi Ortega, who’s hit Elaab Yalla is a smash in the Arabic music world.

While the festival is free to enter, both of the big gigs are ticketed separately, with Bastille tickets costing Dhs195 and Oka Wi Ortega costing Dhs95.

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, March 6 at www.ticketmaster.ae.

Free entertainment will include live solo artists, bands and dance.

As well as the music, there will be food trucks, beach sports, shopping pop-ups, and more entertainment suitable for all the family and adults.

The idea is that all of the activities are social media-friendly, so you can make the most of the eye-catching displays and food and share with your followers using the hashtag #SocialinRealLife.

Club Social is taking place on March 29 and 30 at Yas Beach and is created by BRAG in partnership with Yas Island and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCTA).

“Club Social at Yas Island is the ideal place to create memories through beach entertainment, new food, music, fitness, and art installation concepts – come play, discover, and get away from your weekday routine in a destination brimming with visuals ready to be snapped, shared and liked,” says Ramzi Nakad, co-founder of BRAG.

“We have completely revamped the look and feel of the festival based on feedback from our thousands of guests in 2018. New family fun in the daytime, complemented by more mature nightlife offerings, make  Club Social a compelling experience for the entire weekend.”

Fatima Al Baloushi, Events Calendar Planning and Development Manager, from DCTA, adds: “In its second edition, Club Social is a vital new element of Abu Dhabi’s event calendar, bringing creativity, color, and community engagement to the capital.”

Food on offer will come from places such as Clinton Street Bakery, Balance, and C’est Cheese.

Fitness classes will come from PUNCH, and other high-profile trainers and performing arts names.

Free (standard entry), Dhs95 (Oka Wi Ortega), Dhs195 (Bastille). Mar 29-30. Yas Beach, Yas Island, www.ticketmaster.ae.
