Waterproof sand in the UAE?

Engineers in Al Ain have found a way to produce waterproof sand. The sand allows for irrigation that uses half as much water as normal by reducing the amount of water that is absorbed by the ground. The sand is produced using a non-harmful liquid additive and allows for the circulation of oxygen and prevents mold.
