Cracking ICC Twenty20 World Cup action coming to the UAE

Love having every wicket and six of the IPL 2021 action here in the UAE? Good news, sloggers, even more cricket will be steaming into the country.

The news that the IPL would resume its knock here in the UAE sent cricket fans into a right old spin earlier this year.

And with the bails tumbling and runs racking up, the UAE is being sent another lovely delivery – this time concerning the ICC Twenty20 World Cup, which will be held in co-operation with Oman from Sunday November 14.

There are 45 matches to be played, with the final held in Dubai.

But before the showcase game there is the small matter of India versus Pakistan in the early rounds of the eagerly anticipated contest.

The two cricketing powerhouses will meet on Sunday October 24 in a blockbuster clash.

The game looks set to be a bonanza for South Asian cricket fans in the UAE.

His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council: “Several people from India and Pakistan call UAE their home. A lot of Indian and Pakistani fans will be coming to the UAE from around the world for the tournament, and for this match in particular.

“I expect there will be a great buzz around this game, both inside and outside the stadium.

“We have a huge community of cricket lovers here in the UAE, people who are really passionate about the sport and we are really pleased for them – they will get to see their favourite teams and stars in action here, in person, and cheer on them on.”
