Stevie Wonder to return to Abu Dhabi?

Soul legend suggests Japan quake benefit concert in UAE

The Yas Show Weekends series of concerts came to a spectacular end on Friday with a sell-out concert by Stevie Wonder.  Delivering some of his most famous songs, including ‘Superstition’, ‘I Just Called To Say I Love You’ and ‘Living for the City’, Stevie proved that his famous voice and incredible musical skills haven’t faded over the years.

During the show, Stevie dedicated his performance to the earthquake and tsunami-ravaged people of Japan. He also expressed an interest in returning to the UAE soon for a benefit concert to raise money for the aid effort in Japan. Watch this space to see if this actually goes ahead.

Meanwhile, fans of Stevie were enthralled by his performance. Luzelle Boado, from Abu Dhabi, told Time Out: ‘He is a true musical genius and he really knows how to work the crowd. He was amazing.’

Holly Radcliffe, who has been living in Abu Dhabi for the past 11 months, said: ‘Seeing Stevie is absolutely awesome. He is huge. We’ve been to all the concerts and this is what I love about Abu Dhabi.’
