Shuttle between Dubai and Abu Dhabi is now open

The bus is now running between Ibn Battuta Bus Station in Dubai and the Central Bus Station in Abu Dhabi

Looking to travel between Dubai and Abu Dhabi? We have great news. The much-loved bus service between the emirates is back.

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the shuttle between the two emirates is resuming in coordination with Abu Dhabi’s Department of Transport, so whether you live in Dubai or the capital, you’ll be able to hop on board.

The bus will start from Ibn Battuta Bus Station in Dubai and head to the Central Bus Station in Abu Dhabi.

In order to travel you will need to comply with precautionary measures, which means that to get into Abu Dhabi you must be vaccinated with green status on the Al Hosn app and designated with a letter E or star.

Those who are unvaccinated will be allowed to enter Abu Dhabi within 48 hours of receiving a Covid-19 test result. You cannot use the same DPI test result to enter Abu Dhabi more than once. Your test result must be shown on the Al Hosn app.

You will also need to social distance and wear your mask at all times.

Unvaccinated travellers should note that you will need to be fully vaccinated and have green status on your Al Hosn app in order to enter public spaces in the capital.

The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee has confirmed that access to shopping centres, restaurants, cafés, and all other retail outlets will only be open to vaccinated individuals.

Gyms, recreational facilities and sporting activities, health clubs, resorts, museums, cultural centres and theme parks also make the list, alongside universities, institutes, public and private schools and children’s nurseries.

Green status appears on the app after a negative PCR test result and remains for 30 days.
