As you may have gathered, sailing is a pretty popular pastime in Abu Dhabi. But it’s about to receive a further boost with the launch of The Abu Dhabi International Sailing & Yachting Club.
The organisation has been funded by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and has already organised its first yachting regatta on April 15. It will also hold an open catamaran race on May 27, and further wooden dhow racing events are in the pipeline.
For the time being, the club will be based at the Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club, near Marina Mall, although a permanent home is being sought.
