Four people killed in UAE thunderstorms. Bad weather set to continue…

Four people were killed during thunderstorms and heavy rain across the UAE this weekend, local media reports.

According to the National, three people died in Sharjah after being electrocuted while standing in water.

Meanwhile, one person was killed in Dubai, and 13 others injured when an entrance collapsed at Global Village.

A statement by Global Village, reported by the Khaleej Times, said: “Due to the extreme and unexpected weather conditions, an element of the Indian pavilion entrance fell. As a result of this accident, 14 people were taken to hospital where one of the injured later died.”

The attraction was closed on Sunday because of the bad weather.

Dubai Police registered more than 170 traffic accidents caused by the rain, 21 of which were serious.

More rain and thunderstorms are forecast for the UAE on Monday.
