Japanese Woman by Lady Aiko
An amazing mural in Dubai’s CityWalk. Aiko has worked with Banksy and produced artwork for big brands including Louis Vuitton and Warner Bros.

Karama murals
Dubai’s newest graffiti makeover is on Karama’s 18B street, an awesome project by Wasl Properties in partnership with the city’s first official graffiti company (aptly named Graffiti). A team of local and international street artists breathed new life into previously bland building façades, choosing vivid designs and “family friendly” graffiti for it to be enjoyed by everyone. Dubbed the Aquarium (above), this mural depicting a shark and a stingray is inspired by the Karama fish market located just around the corner.

Sharjah clouds mural building
Iraq-born Marwan Shakarchi decorated this building façade with his iconic emoji-style clouds, calling the mural There’s an Angle to Everything.

Coya art by Skyler Grey
The high-end Peruvian restaurant in Dubai recently got the urban art wunderkind, who is friends with Snoop Dogg and Chris Brown, to decorate its walls with his much-lauded eclectic paintings.

Creative Community Wall by Ruben Sanchez
JLT’s Cluster V holds the neighbourhood’s pièce de résistance, a Picasso-style mural created by a fellow Spanish artist and commissioned by Dubai’s Ing Creatives.

MAD mural by several international artists
The world’s largest privately owned graffiti wall decorates the circular façade of this renowned club and bar, formerly known as O1ne, on the capital’s Yas Island.

Al Raha mural by international artists
Commissioned by local developer Aldar, Abu Dhabi’s longest mural at more than 500m is like an open-air museum, depicting Emiratis of different generations with symbolism relating to their heritage.
