Explore history in Al Ain

If you’re in the Garden City then a visit to Al Ain Palace Museum is never a bad idea.

The impressive and sprawling palace was once the childhood home of the UAE’s founding father Sheikh Zayed and is an amazing snapshot into life in the UAE before it was the UAE.

Free. Tue-Thu and Sat 8.30am-7.30pm, Fri 3.30pm-7.30pm. Next to Al Ain Oasis, Al Ain (03 711 8388).

Play around at Khalifa Park

Boasting wide open spaces, plenty of room for cycling, barbecue facilities and even a maritime museum, we think Khalifa is one of the most underrated parks in Abu Dhabi.

There’s an abundance of greenery, a library and even a small train to be discovered, so, what are you waiting for?
