Guti headed to Middle East?

Real Madrid star Jose Maria Gutierrez Hernandez eyes UAE, Qatar move…

Real Madrid footballer Jose Maria Gutierrez Hernandez, better known as Guti, is eyeing a move to a club in the Gulf region despite interest from the English Premier League, Arabian Business has learnt.

The midfield star, who has three Champions League winners medals to his name during his 15 years in the first team at the Spanish giant, has expressed his interest in a move to the UAE or Qatar.

Despite interest from top English clubs including Spurs, Manchester City and Arsenal, he is keen on a move to the Middle East, Ingrid Naranjo, who is conducting negotiations with Guti, told Arabian Business.

Clubs thought to be at the top of Guti’s wishlist are Al Ahli, Al Jazeera and Al Ain.

Guti, who still has one year left on his contract at the Bernabeu, is keen to sign a two year contract with a club in the region, with a possibility of extending it to a third year.

Guti has played a key role in recent Real Madrid triumphs and as well as the Champions League successes, he has won the Spanish Championship five times.

Although his minutes on field this season have decreased due to injuries and misunderstandings with the coach, Guti is still a big name in the world of Spanish football.

According to reports, the 33-year-old said that he was planning to leave Real at the end of the season after failing to hold down a regular place in the side.
