Organic food invades the UAE

With demand for chemical-free, fresh produce rising in the UAE, the government has announced there are now more than 40 organic farms operating across 3,890 hectares and producing 62 different products. Despite Dubai’s reputation for poor dietary choices, the statistics would indicate a fondness for healthy veggies. Popular organic products include the regional staple, the date, and common fruit and vegetables, including tomatoes and greens.
