Diddy-Dirty Money music review

Stunning sonic journey leaps from Euro house to grinding digi-bass

Last Train To Paris
4/5

Have hip hop’s elite formed a proggy production appreciation society? After Kanye’s magpie approach to ‘futuristism’, Diddy’s first album as part of trio Dirty Money is a similarly soaring, OTT concoction of slick digital sonics. This is a stunning sonic journey that leaps from Euro house to lounge jazz to symphonic electro to crunkily grinding digi-bass. The sprawling track listing could have done with a trim, as could the slew of musical celeb guests (Timberlake, Usher, Drake et al), but this is a very well-produced album.
