Kinokuniya bookstore to open first Abu Dhabi branch

The popular book shop will open later this year

If you ask us, you can never have enough bookstores, and luckily in Abu Dhabi we’re about to get another.

Whether its cookbooks, autobiographies, fiction or graphic novels, we love it all and we’re not the only ones who can’t wait to start a new chapter when Kinokuniya opens in the capital this year.

The Japanese bookstore, which already has branch in Dubai Mall, is set to open their first store in Abu Dhabi in September at The Galleria.

As part of The Galleria’s extension the bookstore will be opening up alomgside the new mall that’s expected to launch on September 4.

Naoya Hirata, managing director of Kinokuniya UAE, says: “We are very excited to celebrate our unique Japanese heritage within The Galleria Al Maryah Island’s vibrant mix, and we look forward to welcoming the Abu Dhabi community to our store.

‘Young children will love Kinokuniya’s learning and development series, teens will be captivated with popular young-adult titles, and thousands of classic and contemporary fiction and non-fiction titles will suit all preferences.”

A whopping 270 new shops will find a home in the mall, as well as more than 70 new places to eat.

Entertainment will include a flagship Xtreme Zone, and there will be urban rooftop parks, too.

The countdown to September is on.
