New portal launched in the UAE to report animal cruelty

Pets will now be more protected from harm

Who doesn’t love animals?

Whether you’re obsessed with cats, or doggos are more your thing, animals are amazing and deserve all the love in the world.

Sadly, not all animals are treated as well as they should be, but thankfully beloved pets and animals will now be more protected in the UAE.

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment has launched a new platform for residents to report animal cruelty among other animal related issues.

Individuals will now be able to report mistreatment, cruelty and the illegal possession of illegal animals through the online portal.

Aiming to improve animal welfare across the board, the system will also take reports of veterinary facilities who are reported to have offered poor services and care of animals.

In addition, a food safety category will also be included to allow pet owners to report and foodstuffs that may be unsafe or be contaminated, unhygienic, non-halal or expired.

All filed reports will be followed up by an inspection team to ensure animals are protected and are receiving the best care.

It’s all good news for animal lovers and we hope more cute kittens, delightful dogs and all other animals can enjoy living in Abu Dhabi as much as we do.
