Four great food deals to try tonight

Head out for a great Tastes of the Capital meal

Whatever day it is in Abu Dhabi, we always find a reason to go out for food.

And until August 15 there are 56 more reasons that usual.

Tastes of the Capital powered by Time Out Abu Dhabi, which we’re running alongside the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, has some brilliant deals on every single day. 

The city’s very best restaurants have set menus available for either Dhs99, Dhs199 or Dhs299.

Here are four we recommend trying tonight. 

Hakkasan 
One of the very best restaurants in the city is offering a tasting menu featuring some of its most popualr dishes. They include hot and sour soup with chicken, Peking duck with pancakes, cucumber and spring onion, the Hakka steamed dim sum platter with abalone and chicken shui mai, sea bass dumpling and sweetcorn dumpling, stir-fried black pepper rib eye beef, crispy silver cod with XO sauce, stir-fry sugar snap, cloud ear and ginger, edamame egg fried rice and a selection of desserts.

Si Ristorante Italiano & Bar
Found at Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas, this place serves up authentic Italian cuisine that’s presented with a modern twist. The set meniu includes red mazzara prawns, yellow tail tuna and smoked swordfish with lemon dressing, angus affumicato – smoked Angus beef served with balsamic caviar and beetroot carpaccio, costata di vitello – veal chop alla Milanese served with oyster mushrooms and truffle polenta fries, scorfano al Forno – oven-baked scorpion fish, Sicilian aubergine caponata, fennel and basil, and tortino al pistacchio di Bronte – Bronte pistachio lava cake served with hazelnut ice cream.

Shang Palace
The lovely Chinese restaurant at the Shangri-La Hotel Qaryat Al Beri is offering a three course menu, with dishes including starters of sweet corn soup with fresh crab meat and green asparagus, clay pot-cooked homemade tofu with eggplant and bean chilli sauce, mains of yellow chicken with sweet basil and ginger soy, served in a clay pot and wok-fried four season vegetables with Sichuan seasoning, and desserts of mango sago pudding with pomelo and dragon fruit and a sliced seasonal fruit platter.

The Foundry
The friendly steakhouse has a great set menu including crispy salmon and crab croquettes, avocado hummus and heirloom tomato chutney, grilled honey-lime chicken breast, salad leaves, beetroot, feta, orange, walnuts and balsamic syrup, mains of 200g beef tenderloin (South African karan grain fed), 250g beef sirloin (New Zealand AFFCO grass fed), all served with asparagus, onion rings, mashed potato and pepper sauce, wild creamy mushroom asparagus risotto with parmesan cheese, garlic and truffle oil and a selection of mini desserts.
