There is only two days left to try one of the Tastes of the Capital menus

If you’re anything like us, the urge to ditch plans to cook and go our for food is usually too strong to resist. 

Which is why we’ve loved our collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi on Tastes of the Capital powered by Time Out Abu Dhabi .

But, like all good things, it must come to an end. There are only two days left to try the amazing menus that are on offer at omre than 55 of the city’s best restaurants. 

If you are still thinking of trying one, now’s your chance. 

Here are five we recommend for tonight. 

Catch
The trendy seafood restaurant at Nation Riviera Beach Club serves up beautifully presented fresh seafood in a pretty setting. Situated right by the white sands of the Corniche, you can always head up to the roof after you’ve eaten to admire the views of the Gulf with a drink or two. Be sure to call ahead for this one and mention Tastes of the Capital when you book as spaces are limited each day. Dishes on offer include burrata cheese, spider roll, beef tacos, grilled sea bass, corn-fed baby chicken, wok-fried noodles, coconut panna cotta, chocolate fondant and ice cream.

JW Steakhouse
This sophisticated steakhouse at Marriott Hotel Downtown Abu Dhabi is decked out brilliantly with American-style decorations and comfortable seats. The cuts of meat are some of the best in the city, and the staff always make you feel welcome. Choose from dishes including jumbo lump crab cake, The Wedge – baby gem and iceberg lettuce with house dressing, stilton, bacon, walnuts and American pears, Loch Fyne salmon, USDA certified prime black angus beef striploin, New York cheesecake and Black forest cake.

Market Kitchen
With a huge tree at the centre of the dining room, this restaurant at Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi is a lovely place to spend an evening. Each of the dishes are expertly made, and presented with care and precision. Here you’ll get pan-fried Omani prawns with lime yogurt and radish, homemade pappardelle espelette with pepper, broccoli, pesto and pecorino cheese and sesame and rosewater pavlova.

Park Bar & Grill
Offering a special Vietnamese menu full of great street food-inspired dishes and Asian classics, guests will be able to enjoy some great food at Park Bar and Grill. Ideal for sharing and full of vibrant ingredients like chilli and lemongrass it’s sure to be an excellent culinary experience. Here’s what you can expect: pho bo, Vietnamese rice paper rolls with cucumber, carrot, mint, basil, coriander and shrimp, Vietnamese crab cakes with mayonnaise, dill and kefir lime leaf, Short rib steamed buns with radish pickle, mayonnaise and hoi sin sauce charcoal grilled chicken with lemongrass, chilli, spring onion and lime and Vietnamese flan cake.

Ray’s Grill
Located on the 63rd floor of Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, few restaurants can offer a better view than this swish venue. When you’re not snapping away at the city and blue Gulf below you, you can sample fresh salads, quality cuts of meat and lovely desserts. The set menu includes one glass of grape or hops, and you can always head for some after-dinner drinks at Ray’s Bar on the floor below, too. Dishes include Ray’s salad, mushroom soup, grass-fed tomahawk for two plus one side (mixed salad, polenta chips, onion rings, creamed spinach, garlic mushroom or mac ‘n’ cheese) and one potato (baked potato with sour cream, potato gratin, finger cut fries or mashed potato), white chocolate cheesecake and pecan pie.
