The cultural zeitgeist can change quicker than the weather, well, maybe not the weather in this country, but it can be hard to keep up with trends.
One trend that has gained momentum online is watching people, usually our favouite celebs, eat incredibly spicy food like with the YouTube series Hot Ones.
We’ve watched as Idris Elba, Gordon Ramsay and many more put their taste buds to the test and willingly took on the task of eating ridiculously spicy chicken wings as we laugh from the comfort of our unburnt mouths.

The Volcanic Chicken Wing Challenge at Velocity isn’t for the faint-hearted, let’s face it, the word Volcanic is a red flag right off the bat.
Guests are invited to take on a platter of one dozen super spicy wings and finish the lot within a 20 minute time-frame to become a champion.
What’s the prize for successfully devouring the seriously spicy snacks? Victorious participants will receive a special t-shirt, a free glass of hops and won’t have to pay for the order of fiery wings.
Fail to clear the lot in time? You’ll have to pay for your wings and you won’t get a cool t-shirt to wear while you body makes you regret your life choices the following day.
We’re not sure we’ve got the courage to take it on ourselves but we’d happily watch anyone brave enough to step up.
