Helping residents to settle into life and for everyone who lives in or visits Abu Dhabi to enjoy the very best of the city is integral to the emirate.
Abu Dhabi Municipality has recently completed work to make the Corniche public beach (and its surrounding areas) and Al Bateen beach more accessible for the elderly and people of determination.
Works included the implementation of special pathways and the introduction of floating ‘water wheels’ (like a modified wheelchair) to help people of determination to access the sea.
Two water wheels will be located in Al Bateen and four more will be available at the Corniche public beach.
The works aim to increase safety measures at the popular leisure spots and make the areas more accessible.
All this talk of the seaside is making us want to have a beach day. Maybe we’ll wait until it’s a little cooler though.
