Etihad Arena to host Jimmy Carr in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi’s new mega venue officially named The Etihad Arena

The new venue on Yas Island now has a name

Yas Island is arguably the leading entertainment hub in Abu Dhabi.

When it comes to concerts, live entertainment, theme parks and sporting events, there aren’t many other destinations in the emirate that come close.

So when a massive new arena was announced for the destination, there was a lot of excitement and expectation.

Now, the new entertainment destination has officially been named the Etihad Arena, as the national airline of the UAE has secured the naming rights.

The multi-purpose indoor arena, located at the Yas Bay development, will be home to a number of big concerts and events once it opens.

The Etihad Arena, which will be operated by Flash Entertainment, can host events with a capacity from 200 people to 18,000.

An exact opening date is yet to be announced but we’ll keep you up to date with its progress.

“It’s an honour to partner with an Abu Dhabi institution such as Miral on this joint venture, that will further promote Abu Dhabi and Yas Island as a hub for entertainment, tourism and culture,” said Tony Douglas, group CEO of Etihad Aviation Group.

“Etihad Arena complements our global presence at a number of sporting and entertainment venues, most notably Etihad Stadium in Manchester, home of Manchester City Football Club.

“This new arena will bring an abundance of talent to our capital, providing a diverse range of entertainment options for guests visiting our beautiful city, or for those who call the UAE home.”

As ever, things are exciting on Yas Island.
