The UAE’s largest permanent obstacle course has opened in Abu Dhabi

Ready to take on the challenge on Al Hudayriat Island?

The UAE loves a good obstacle course, from Tough Mudder and the Spartan Race to the Desert Warrior Challenge.

Now, fitness fans no longer have to count down the days to take on a physical challenge with the launch of the UAE’s largest permanent obstacle course.

Found at Al Hudayriat Island, OCR Park is a 95,000 sq m site packed with obstacles to test endurance fitness, adaptability and creativity.

Open to people of all ages, you’ll find a 3km track for adults and a 1.5km track for children.

There will alao be classes for people of determination, with specialist staff on site to assist.

The park is open daily from 6am to 9pm.

The adults track features eight obstacles and eight fitness stations while the childrens course has six obstacles over different terrain.

In addition, the obstacles can change size, complexity and difficulty to suit experience, skill and fitness levels of participants.

Along the way you’ll have to climb, perform jumps and rope swings, go on long-distance endurance and more.

“We are passionate about shaking up the way people in the Middle East exercise, move their bodies, and stay healthy,” said Nic Cartwright of Sabco Sports, operators of OCR Park.

“OCR Park is a fun and inclusive challenge for all, that will give people the chance to improve their fitness, and also build on their confidence.

“We encourage everyone to come down and experience the biggest OCR Park in the Middle East. There are no winners and no losers at the OCR Park – we’re all here to have fun.”

Health and safety measures are in place at the park including regularly sanitisation, the wearing of a mask, maintaining social distancing and advance booking.

Tickets start from Dhs100 for a weekday pass and Dhs150 for a weekend pass.

OCR Park is also available for school tours, birthday parties, private events and team building sessions.
