Sharjah to open mountain-top tourist attraction during Eid Al Adha

Check out Al Suhub Rest House this summer

Looking to escape the bright lights of the city during the Eid Al Adha six-day long holiday break?

Then set your sights on Sharjah where a cool new tourist attraction is set to open during Eid Al Adha.

Sitting atop of a mountain in Khorfakkan, Al Suhub Rest House will throw open its doors next week to the public.

Based some 580m above sea level, visitors are told to expect stunning views of the city of Khorfakkan from all directions from the flying-saucer-shaped building.

Guests of the rest house will also be able to enjoy features such as water fountains and a restaurant – making it a welcome pitstop after a hike (or drive) to the summit.

The journey to the rest house also includes a specially constructed 5.63km stretch of road that also provides great vistas – and plenty of frames for the feed.

Two other rest houses are also in the pipeline, and will be opening at 253m and 480m above sea level, respectively.

The project was commissioned at the request His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, who directed the establishment of the Al Suhub Rest House during the Direct Line programme on Sharjah TV and Radio last year.

The announcement on the opening of the building is the latest in a long line of exciting developments in the emirate.

The Lu’lu’yah Park project was recently completed at a cost of Dhs1.3million.

Situated on an area of 1,200 square metres, the park includes a lawn play area, a kids’ playground, and a farm house replete with energy-saving light poles.

We’ll see you there.
