If you’ve been keeping up with the news you’ll know that Australia has been suffering from some of the most severe wildfires in the country’s history.
As the country tackles the environmental problem it might not seem like the time to celebrate Australia Day, but proud Australians around the world and here in Abu Dhabi will be keen to show some national pride.
The good news is, if you’d like to do something to help, some Australia Day celebrations here in the UAE Capital will be raising funds for relief efforts in the country.

Appaloosa
The cool Khalifa City sports bar will be going Down Under for Australia Day from Friday January 26 to Sunday 26.
Head along to the venue and you can enjoy a special set menu all weekend and Australian hops or tuck into a special Australian edition of the Bring Your Own Mates Friday brunch.
Helping to raise funds for relief efforts a computer will also be on site set up to the official fundraising portals for guests to donate and help efforts in the country.

PJ O’Reilly’s
The annual Australia Day celebrations are back at PJ O’Reilly’s on Friday January 24.
The Great Big Australia Day includes a poolside barbecue, food stalls selling pies and free-flowing beverages.
Entertainment will also be on hand with Sweet Chilli Jam and DJ Sonya Mac and DJ Lola providing the soundtrack to the day.
For little ones there will be a bouncy castle, face painting, games and activities to keep them busy throughout the afternoon.
